Have you ever felt that feeling of not being heard? Whether your voice is lost in a room full of people. Or you are simply ignored. Or you just don’t have the confidence to say what’s on your mind.
But what if your voice was only heard thanks to an expensive and hard-to-access machine?
Some of our patients are unable to communicate, unless they have access to a piece of equipment, called Eye Gaze. Eye Gaze machines rely on eye movement, so they can find their voices again, with just the flicker of an eye.
From 10th–16th March, it’s Brain Awareness Week. We have been working with some brilliant people, to raise awareness of just how amazing our brains are when it comes to communication, through our #iGaze campaign. They trialled the Eye Gaze machines so they could view life through the eyes of the patients here at the RHN, and realise just how precious communication really is.
A donation of £20 can help our team continue to support patients, like Richard and Steve, and help them learn how to use an Eye Gaze machine, enabling them to communicate again with their friends and family.
Your online donation in support of our work this week, will also be doubled by Gourmet Pizza*. It means a gift of just £20 today will be worth £40 to us, at no extra cost to you. This helps us to provide equipment and sessions to help a severely disabled person communicate again.
